Ensuring Quality Care

Ensuring High Quality Care Through Continuous Improvement

At Hospice of Southern Maine, we strive for excellence in all that we do and have an active quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) program to monitor the quality of care we provide. We collect data related to assessment and management of patient symptoms and family satisfaction with the care we provided. All of this information is used to identify areas for action and improvement.

How Do We Compare?

Curious about how Hospice of Southern Maine compares with other hospices in the area? Medicare's Care Compare website shows you how we compare with other agencies and national benchmarks for family satisfaction, managing pain, treating symptoms, and much more.

Hospice of Southern Maine is the only hospice agency in Maine to receive the prestigious Hospice Honors Elite Award. This award recognizes agencies that continuously provide the highest level of quality care as measured from the caregiver's point of view. It acknowledges the highest performing agencies by analyzing the performance of the CAHPS hospice survey satisfaction measures.
