Family of HSM Patient Finds Fun Way to Give Back

On Saturday November 17th, roughly 100 people swarmed the streets of downtown Portland for a Pub Crawl supporting Hospice of Southern Maine. Attendees visited all of the Portland hot spots including Nosh Kitchen Bar, Ri Ra, Gritty McDuff’s, and Bull Feeney’s. Red “Big E” Pub Crawl t-shirts were sold and worn by the attendees, creating an awe-inspiring display of support for both a great man and a great cause.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Ernest T. Briggs (The Big E) died at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in October of 2010. Since his death, his son Steve has been honoring his memory by hosting this fun-raising fundraiser benefitting Hospice of Southern Maine.

Below is a photo of Steve and his family with HSM Chaplain, Larry Greer.
