The Hospice Journey
From the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness to providing family members grief and loss support, hospice is a journey that Hospice of Southern Maine will travel with you.
Why should I have Hospice services early on?
Hospice provides support delivered by a group of people that, over time, become trusted members of a caring team. Some hospice patients go to work, drive their cars and maintain their daily lifestyles if symptoms are well-controlled. Being comfortable and feeling supported helps to make the dying process much easier than going through it alone. The information that is provided helps take the fear of the unknown away, both for the person who is ill and for their caregivers.
From Our Patients & Their Families
"You'll never know what your fast, efficient and gentle help did for both Paul and me. His last wish, to die at home, would never have come about without your help. Although the time you spent with us was very short, the impressions you left on all of us will last a long, long time." More...
