At Hospice of Southern Maine we realize the quality of our service is judged solely on the quality of our care in the eyes of our patients, their families and the community at large. To ensure only the finest care for our patients, we’ve taken the following measures:- Individualized care plans based on each patient's needs.
- We recruit staff with experience and interest in providing the best end-of-life care possible.
- An extensive Quality Improvement Program with several areas of focus specific to end-of-life services that is reviewed by various committees on a regular basis.
- Governance by a board of community members who review our performance against our key performance measures on a regular basis.
- A Professional Advisory and Ethics Committee composed of staff and community members who meet regularly.
- We survey each patient's family and physician following their death or discharge.
