Twilight in the Park Event a Success
Hospice of Southern Maine Honors Veterans and Loved Ones
(PORTLAND, Maine) — Hospice of Southern Maine’s Twilight in the Park event, held Saturday, October 22, was a success, drawing hundreds of people to stroll among the luminaria lining the pathways and bridges in Deering Oaks.
The luminaria candles were lit at twilight, and following the ceremony, visitors wandered through the wonderland of lights reflecting on those who have brought love and light into their lives.
A special tribute to Maine’s military was incorporated into the ceremony. Secretary of State Charlie Summers together with Mr. Joseph Davio and Rodger Day read the names of Maine soldiers who have died since 9/11.
