We care for patients in a setting of their choice.  Whether in a private home, nursing home, or hospital, we are available to help people face the unique challenges of terminal illness.  We can help by offering:

  • Physician and nursing care to maximize comfort and minimize pain
  • Medication management for pain and symptom control
  • Medical equipment and supplies
  • Home health aides to assist with personal care needs between nursing visits
  • Volunteer support to give comfort and assistance
  • Education, social work, counseling, and bereavement services
  • Pastoral care
  • Other specific treatments and therapies as needed
Medicare, MaineCare, and many private insurers pay for end-of-life care at Hospice of Southern Maine.
