Hospice
is quality, compassionate care for patients struggling with terminal
illness. The principal goals of hospice are enhancing the value of life by controlling pain and any other physical symptoms,
maintaining patients' dignity and respecting their wishes and providing emotional and spiritual support. It is
a family-centered approach that includes a team of doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors, and trained volunteers.
Anyone diagnosed with a terminal illness with a six-month prognosis has access to the Hospice Benefit. Once a patient is in
the hospice program, our team of professionals work with the family and patient in the setting of the patient’s choice
(whether in a private home, nursing home, or hospital) to meet their unique individual needs.
