Reimbursement for Care
Hospice services are based on the patient's health care needs, not their ability to pay. Reimbursement for services is generally available through Medicare, MaineCare and other insurance plans. The Medicare Hospice Payment System Fact Sheet provides an overview of the Medicare Hospice Benefit. Benefits from other insurance companies may vary and individuals should contact their insurer for more information. If assistance is needed in determining coverage, our staff is available to answer questions. Options for subsidized care are available for income-qualified patients.
