Hospice Diagnosis Guidelines
The following Local Coverage Determination (LCD) Guidelines are published by our Medicare Fiscal Intermediary NHIC. These guidelines are intended to guide prognostication and eligibility decisions for Hospice patients.
Instructions: Please refer to section 2 in the document listed below, which is titled Indications, for specific guidance in using the LCDs. In essence, the instruction is to use either part I or a combination of parts II and III when determining medical eligibility for Hospice.
