A Thank You to Our Generous Donors

Thank you for your generous gift! All donations to Hospice of Southern Maine assist us in continuing to care for dying patients and to helping them live with peace, dignity and comfort for whatever time remains.

Hospice of Southern Maine (HSM) is the only non-profit, community based organization whose sole mission is to offer comprehensive hospice services, with an in-home program and an inpatient facility, the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. In addition to traditional hospice services, HSM continues to set the bar higher for exceptional hospice care by offering other vital services to the community free of charge such as:

  • Bereavement services to anyone in the community, whether they are a hospice family or not. Counseling and spiritual support services are also available.
  • Our Living Well program provides services for adults with life-limiting illness but who are still seeking life-prolonging treatment and in need of additional support.
  • Our new Tidewaters program offers non-clinical support, including social work, chaplaincy and volunteer assistance to the families of children suffering with life-limiting illness.
  • A variety of both community and professional opportunities related to hospice and palliative medicine.

To complement our in-home hospice program and to fill a gap in end of life care options, our 18-bed Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, the only hospice house in southern Maine, was designed to meet the unique needs of patients in need of more specialized care. We provide professional nursing and medical care to manage pain and distressing symptoms that cannot be managed at home or to provide respite care if a patient’s home caregiver is in need of a period of rest.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments about our services or if you or your family would like a tour of the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. We appreciate your support!
