Gosnell Memorial Hospice House

Hospice of Southern Maine is the only program in southern Maine with an inpatient hospice facility. The 18-bed Gosnell Memorial Hospice House was designed to meet the unique needs of patients with a life-limiting illness.

The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House is not a hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation center. It is a comforting, homelike atmosphere where you and your loved ones can share time together.

  • About the House
  • Our patient's private suite becomes home with a kitchenette, a dining table for individually cooked meals and a sofa bed.

    The house also offers:
    • A living room with a fireplace
    • A dining room for families to gather in
    • The Grief and Loss Library
    • Landscaped Gardens and Trails
    • A sanctuary and several quiet places for reflection
    • Spa and Other Amenities
    • Wireless Internet connection

The Gosnell Family's Generous Gift

The five children of the Gosnell family came together to donate $1 million to Building Hospice Care in Maine. As our top donors, they chose to honor their parents by naming the house after them: The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
