Improve quality of life at the end of life.

Program Objectives

  • Provide comprehensive hospice services through a free-standing, licensed, Medicare certified program consistent with the hospice philosophy, and consisting of physical, emotional and spiritual services to patients and their families in the setting most appropriate for the patient.
  • Operate a hospice facility to provide an alternative for those patients who are unable to remain in their homes and require residential care, or who require an inpatient level of care for acute pain and symptom management.
  • Promote better care of all patients with life limiting or terminal illness by supporting development of improved palliative care services in area healthcare settings, recognizing that this supportive care is needed, not just in the terminal stages, but throughout the illness experience.
  • Contribute to research and data collection efforts aimed at the improvement of end of life and palliative care, and participate in educating practitioners and multidisciplinary caregivers to better provide hospice and palliative care.
  • Support the community as a whole by fostering awareness, encouraging volunteerism and advocating for an improved social framework regarding all end of life issues.
